24 Ciri-Ciri Orang Yang Mencintai Kamu

Maka barang siapa yang menyukakan anak perempuan seolah-olah dia memerdekakan anak Nabi Ismail A.S

Assange's mother says 'massive forces' against him

Image via Wikipedia Christine Assange, who lives in Queensland, dismissed the rape charges against her 39-year-old son, for which he remains remanded in custody in Britain and facing extradition to Sweden, saying: "Julian would not rape". But she told Australia's Seven Network that she was concerned about what will happen to her son, founder of the WikiLeaks website which has begun releasing more than 250, 000 sensitive US diplomatic cables. Julian Assange denies the sexual assault charges. "Julian, rape, straight out of my guts -- no way. Julian would not rape," Christine Assange said. She added: "It's a worry, of course. I am no different from any other mother. Every time the news goes on I am glued to it... "These massive forces have decided they are going to stop him and they are not going to play by the rules."

WikiLeaks and Diplomacy

Image via Wikipedia Ambassador Kishan S. Rana writes: The release of 250,000 diplomatic 'cables' (a lovely, quaint term) by the US diplomatic system has produced some shock-waves and a vast outpouring of comment. Of course, some faces, belonging to those that acted with indiscretion are red; some political figures are hurt that behind their backs, they are seen in unflattering terms - but is that really so unusual; a few that indiscreetly shared with US diplomats information they should not have given out are truly embarrassed - and one senior official heading the German Foreign Minister's office has reportedly resigned; and the media have had a field day with lots of  schadenfreude . US officials have spoken of grave danger to the system of inter-state exchanges; one reads that Secretary of State Hilary Clinton has telephoned a dozen or more high foreign personalities to apologise for the disclosures. But is diplomacy, as a process of confidential communication between a...

Twitter & Facebook Shut Down Wikileaks Hacker Group

Image via Wikipedia Payback, the hacker operation that shut down Mastercard’s website for cutting off Wikileaks has its own Facebook and Twitter accounts shut down. Payback used Twitter and Facebook to claim responsibility for the shut down. The group said on both Facebook and Twitter that it was using a distributed denial of service attack, also known as a DDOS attack, to bring down Mastercard’s website. DDOS attacks overload a website’s servers by sending an inordinate amount of requests for information that results in a site being unable to operate. Twitter officials could not be reached for comment, but Facebook spokesman Andrew Noyes e-mailed this statement: “We take our Statement of Rights and Responsibilities seriously and react quickly to reports of inappropriate or illegal content and behavior. In this case, we removed a page because it was promoting a DDOS attack.

Twitter Bantah Sensor Trending Topic #Wikileaks

The Most Important Aspect of the WikiLeaks Debate

Image via Wikipedia There’s a lot of thoughtful discussion going on about Julian Assange and WikiLeaks in light of the publication of the 250,000 cables between the US and other foreign governments .  Some of the best I’ve read comes from Clay Shirky ( “WikiLeaks and the Long Haul” ), Jeff Jarvis ( “WikiLeaks: Power Shifts From Secrecy to Transparency” ) Evan Hansen ( “Why WikiLeaks is Good for America” ) and Ethan Zuckerman ( “Why Amazon Caved, and What it Means for the Rest of us” ) If you’re interested in reading more commentary, Alexis Madrigal at The Atlantic is doing a great job cataloging essays and editorials here . As with so many things, the moral question of whether or not WikiLeaks should exist or should publish this sort of information is nearly irrelevant.  The REALITY is that it DOES exist and CAN publish these documents and videos. Every communication sent by anyone, be it a lowly government official or a head of state, carries with it the inherent ri...

Why the U.S. Needs to Play More Soccer

Last week the U.S. lost its bid for the 2022 FIFA World Cup to Qatar.  Yes, Qatar . FIFA Secretary General Jerome Valcke watches on as Sepp Blatter congratulates Qatar. Source: Anja Niedringhaus / AP We did beat out South Korea, Japan and Australia to make it to the final round but then got beat by Qatar with an overwhelming 14-8 vote.  This loss comes especially hard after our recent loss to Brazil as host for the 2016 Summer Olympics. Qatar got selected as a consequence of International Sport Committees moving to new territories, specifically, away from highly industrialized Western nations and towards Eastern and Southern nations.  The most recent FIFA games in South Africa are an example of this.

Google, you’re doin’ it wrong.

Image via CrunchBase Today Google announced it’s anticipated and awaited laptop computer .  Equipped with Verizon 3G internet access, it’s being called a netbook.  This machine will not run Windows, or Apple’s OS, it will run Google’s very own software:   Chrome OS .  Or is it Chromium OS ?  I have no idea – I haven’t sorted through the crap to figure that out. From the little that I, the average consumer, can gather at this point there are a number of things wrong with Google’s entire approach on this. First of all, the event was hardly publicized.  Only tech journalists were allowed in, there are a few pictures of the presentation floating around the internet, and there’s no real official place to go for a full recap on this.  Where do I go to learn about Google’s news?  Google.com?  The Official Google Blog ?  (Yes, Google’s Official Blog is a ‘.blogspot’ blog.  I think they own Blogspot and all but c’mon…w...

Google unveils Chrome OS for notebooks - but puts it off to mid-2011

Image by FreeCliDent via Flickr Google has shown off its Chrome OS , the operating system that will power a new range of notebooks - but says its launch will be delayed until "mid-2011" with no indication of price or performance characteristics of machines that will run it. The idea behind the Chromium OS is that it will coordinate with cloud services, especially Google's , to minimise the amount of local storage required and to allow people to use any Chromium device to access the same cloud-saved data and synchronise locally-stored data to the cloud. The launch has been delayed because Chrome OS still has too many bugs - 2,227 according to the official page , including "sync is not working" which was the top one at the time of writing.

Julian Assange's celebrity supporters stake reputations on case

Image via Wikipedia The already curious case of Julian Assange took another bizarre twist yesterday when the court learned that a raggle-taggle of "household names" were prepared to stake their reputation in his case, offering sureties to the court with a total value of £180,000. Despite claiming not to know Assange, the film-maker Ken Loach and the socialite and charity fundraiser Jemima Khan stood before Westminster magistrates and offered big sums towards Assange's bail, though bail was later refused. Offering £20,000, Loach said he did not know Assange other than by reputation, but added: "I think the work he has done has been a public service. I think we are entitled to know the dealings of those that govern us."

Google Chrome 8 ’s Secretive Launch

It is highly very likely that Google will ever release anything without any of the speculations. Google has released a much awaited update to Chrome without making any noise. This now brings us to the new version of Chrome as we know it or Chrome 8. The version is ready for download as you read the article. Google has been very secretive about the updates in recent times. But this time they sort of out did themselves in this regard , they did not even make a blog post. The update just appeared in the site. Google Chrome 7 was reviewed favorably unanimously. It had better graphics and was a significant update. What Google Chrome 8 does so well is to build on the foundation laid down by the predecessor. The focus is to polish the browser and to enhance the security features. Some of the worthwhile and notable feature of this release are. The in-built PDF reader. Over 800 bugs from the earlier version done away with. Many security fixes are built in. The browser now supports an app ...

Facebook Users Changing Display Pic To Cartoon Characters

Image via CrunchBase Here is a very interesting trend that is going on in the world of Facebook . Many Facebook users have started to change their Display pics to cartoon characters. It is expected that Facebook is going through a cultural revolution at this point regarding what we can safely say the chip and Dale effect. The Facebook page that is promoting the pictures claims that it is for a campaign to end violence among children. The page coaxes adult users to change their display pics on Facebook. Until Monday (Dec. 6), there should be no human faces on Facebook but an invasion of memories. This is for eliminating violence against children, The campaign creator asks users to change their profile pics and share the above statement in their status message . Just how did campaign start off is really a mystery. So many facebook users are pointing out that this is not going to yield an acceptable end result. one user said “Yeah…like this is gonna help end violence against children...

Android Comes Up On iOS In October

A new comScore report concerning the state of the mobile market is out, and it should surprise exactly no one that Android's market share continues to rise.  The rate of Android's growth is sure to displease some Apple fans, however, as it looks like Android may have eclipsed iOS in terms of smartphone subscribers. Google's share of the market rose from 21.4 percent in September to 23.5 percent in October (the most recent month for which comScore has stats).  Apple's share, meanwhile, only edged upwards from 24.3 percent to 24.6 percent.  So it's quite possible Google drew even and pulled ahead in November. That guess is supported by longer-term data, too.  comScore compared how the top mobile operating systems performed between July and September, and only Google came out looking strong. Indeed, even the people at RIM, who still have a decent lead overall, should be worried considering how their OS lost a full 10.0 points over Google's in that timespan. ...

What if Facebook Goes Search While Google Struggles to Go Social?

Facebook and Google don't much acknowledge that they're direct competitors, though there's no question that in many ways they are. Eric Schmidt recently said Bing was it's main competitor , and Mark Zuckerberg said its new messaging system isn't an email killer and that "Gmail is a really good product." It's true that Bing poses a significant threat to Google's search market share if Microsoft's stars align the right way (Windows Phone is a huge success, people search from within Facebook more, etc.), but it is Facebook that is practically omnipresent throughout the majority of the web. You'd be hard pressed to find many authoritative sites that don't have some kind of Facebook integration, even if it's just "like" buttons. It is all of these many, many integrations together that make Facebook a very dangerous opponent to Google.  More to Google Than Search First off, it's worth noting that Google has its tenta...
