There are security concerns and there are unhappy blog posts that talks about Facebook's lack of interest in giving explanations for its complicated and constantly changing security policies. There is so much panic all over that it looks like that people are going to fund in an attempt to build another social media site. Although, Facebook is on the news for different wrong reasons, anti Facebook lobby is not strong enough to venture out for an alternative social media site because of lack of competitiveness. Say, for example, Orkut, despite of their best effort, could not establish their base in a significant way worldwide. The other communities do not have the strong potential to project themselves as a threat to Facebook. However, it is quite difficult to take over Facebook for the following reasons:

Chinese ‘Cyber Lover’ Cheats Internet Girlfriend of Two Million Yuan

he Chinese Police has detained an 18-year-old man suspected of defrauding his Internet girlfriend of more than two million yuan (307,064 dollars) in Qianan city of Northeast China's Hebei province. The jobless young man surnamed Qiu got to know the girl surnamed Bi through QQ, the most popular Chinese instant messenger, in July 2009. He called himself Guo Xingchen and told the girl that he was a pilot and that his family ran an iron and steel company, the China Daily reports. Bi, who was impressed by Qiu's seemingly rich lifestyle, kept sending money in the following months to Qiu when he lied repeatedly, such as telling her about a car accident and organ transplant.

Hi5 is getting in touch with its inner gamer. After a multiyear struggle to keep users from defecting to rivals, the social network is reinventing itself as a social gaming and entertainment site. Founded in 2003, hi5 will keep letting users interact with friends and family. It will also place greater emphasis on such games as pool, bingo, and Demolition City, which involves blowing up buildings around the world. Many of the pastimes include purchasing so-called virtual goods, in-game products that help a player accomplish tasks and graduate to higher levels.

Chinese New Year is the beginning of the new year in the traditional Chinese lunar calendar.
