Microsoft menyebut Yahoo sebagai penyebab kebocoran paket data, yang disebut ' phantom data ', pada telepon selular yang menggunakan Windows Phone 7 sebagai sistem operasi. Permasalahan yang mulai teridentifikasi sejak awal tahun 2011 itu menyebabkan ponsel menerima dan mengirim paket data tanpa sepengetahuan pengguna. Sederhananya ponsel menggunakan paket data internet tanpa sepengetahuan pemilik ponsel. Sebagian pengguna mengeluhkan bahwa " bug " itu menelan paket data bulanan mereka. Microsoft masih mencari solusi masalah tersebut. Microsoft selama ini menolak untuk menyebutkan nama penyebab masalah.

Image via CrunchBase Pada 31 Oktober 2010 mendatang, pengguna aplikasi Nimbuzz takkan lagi bisa menggunakan layanan Skype dari dalam aplikasi berlogo 'N' tersebut. Skype memutuskan segera hengkang dari Nimbuzz. Langkah Skype itu bisa dimaklumi. Sebab sebagai penyedia layanan Voice Over Internet Protocol (VoIP) papan atas, Skype memang sebelumnya memiliki mandat untuk menghentikan kerjasama dengan semua pihak ketiga yang juga memiliki VOiP. Dalam hal ini adalah Nimbuzz. Sebagai informasi, Nimbuzz merupakan aplikasi ponsel gratis yang menyediakan layanan instant messaging serta jejaring sosial. Lewat Nimbuzz, pengguna bisa tetap terhubung dengan teman-teman mereka dengan membuka facebook, twitter, YM, GTalk dan beberapa layanan lain secara bersamaan.

Tingginya penetrasi kepemilikan ponsel di Indonesia membuat negeri ini menjadi tempat potensial bagi para pengembang aplikasi untuk memasarkan produknya. Yahoo Inc.'s latest facelift will include a Facebook touchup. As part of changes rolling out this week, Yahoo will import personal updates from Facebook's social network for users who want a bridge between two of the world's most popular websites. The Facebook link will need to be turned on by each Yahoo user. The personal updates, known as a "news feed" in Facebook's parlance, will be available throughout Yahoo's website, including its front page and e-mail service. Other tools will empower people to automatically let their Facebook friends know what they are doing and saying on Yahoo services such as its photo-sharing site, Flickr. Are you wealthy, male and aged 35-44? If so, you are the average iPad user according to some interesting stats released by Yahoo. Using data from anyone who signed in to any of its networks via an iPad, Yahoo revealed that men outnumbered women by almost two to one, and that in the 35-44 age category the population composition was 36 per cent higher than its usual user. It seems there aren't many kids out there with iPads yet - population composition was 39 per cent down on the Yahoo norm in the under 20 age group.

Yahoo's news site is launching a daily 90-second series based on its most popular stories. Yahoo says it is teaming with Toyota and the production company Reveille to make "Who Knew?". The feature made its debut Monday on the popular news page. Producers take the story that gets the most clicks on Yahoo's Web site and within 24 hours make a feature that offers background material. Something new will be posted each workday. Woody Thompson, who created the "Pop Up Video" series for VH1, helped make this new series. Greenpeace telah menuduh Facebook, Apple, Microsoft, Google dan sejumlah perusahaan teknologi lainnya atas kontribusi meningkatnya pemanasan global (global warming). According to a Beijing-based press association, the email accounts of foreign journalists in China and Taiwan got hacked. Recently, Google got into a row with Chinese authorities because Gmail accounts based China have been hacked. The Foreign Correspondents' Club of China (FCCC) reported eight cases of hacking of Yahoo Email accounts in China. The company condemned this Cyber attack. A reporter of Irish Times complained that he got an error message while he tried to log into Yahoo. FCCC charged Yahoo for not giving the user about the information of possible cyberattack. Yahoo has not answered the FCCC's questions about the attacks, nor has it told individual mail users how the accounts were accessed," a spokesman told the news agency.

By some accounts, this week hasn't been so great for Google. The first bit of bad news concerns sales of Google's Nexus One phone. On Tuesday, the market analytics firm Flurry released a report saying initial sales of Google's Nexus One phone have been slim compared to the Droid and the iPhone. The firm compared sales of those those phones over the first 74 days they were on the market. In a blog post , Flurry says it chose that time period because that's how long it took the original iPhone to sell 1 million handsets when it was released in 2007.

Mungkin bukan sebuah pilihan yang membanggakan bagi sebagian besar masyarakat kita. Namun, keputusan menjadi tukang becak adalah yang paling mungkin bagi saya waktu itu, selain cepat bisa memberikan hasil, pekerjaan itu tidak perlu syarat macam-macam seperti halnya mencari pekerjaan yang lain. Apalagi dengan hanya berbekal ijazah SMA dan tidak punya bekal keterampilan apa-apa akan sangat sulit untuk mendapatkan pekerjaan dengan cepat. Selain itu, sebelum tahun 1990-an di kota Yogyakarta profesi tukang becak masih cukup lumayan menghasilkan uang untuk membantu menghidupi keluarga.
