MySpace hopes its move to allow users to share online content from other social networks will drive people back to their site.
The social networking site said more similar features would soon be introduced
Once the world's most popular social networking site, MySpace has fallen behind the likes of Facebook and Twitter.
But a new MySpace service lets people connect all their web accounts, rather than having to choose between using one or the other.
Sync means users can update their Twitter feeds from MySpace or share videos with friends on Facebook - who can then play them without having to switch sites.
The company would be introducing "more and more" similar features in the coming months, it added.
MySpace managing director and senior vice president Rebekah Horne said the change would highlight the differences between the sites.
"We have a much richer site and a much deeper engagement with artists or filmmakers or whoever may be curating content on the site," she told News.com.au.
"The idea is that you can hook people via other networks and then drive them back into the much richer experience on MySpace."
Co-president Mike Jones added the service recognised that people use different social networking sites for different reasons.
"In general we find that sharing between MySpace, Facebook and Twitter happens a lot," he also told News.com.au.
